BLACK HERITAGE TRAIL P/T Media Consultant
Job Description
- Reports to the City of Clemson’s Black Heritage Trail (BHT) Program Co-Director. Produces media: photography, videography and sound recording (includes editing) for various aspects of the BHT project. This includes media content for the website, social media, documents, interpretative signage, events, and programs. Works in collaboration with the Research Consultant, Program Co-Director, and other members of the City of Clemson BHT team. Some travel required. Other duties as assigned. This is a 3-year grant funded position.
Job Duties
#1 - Produce content for social media posting, web and other media formats; attend and record (photography/sound or videography) for related events –65%
#2 - Work with Research Consultant and BHT team and attend meetings as required –20%
#3 - Travel –15%
Requirements
Preferred education: Bachelor's degree in communications, history or museum studies and 2-3 years experience in audio/video production; or 4-5 years experience producing audio and video content; or equivalent combination of education and media production experience.
Preferred experience: Background or experience in working with local/upstate South Carolina African American history and local descendant communities; understanding of rural southern African American history.
